Chris Pitt concentrates his practice in local and national commercial and residential real estate matters, focusing primarily on title and title insurance issues. In addition to representing institutional and private lenders, and commercial and residential real estate developers, purchasers, and sellers, he has broad experience in land use aspects of Massachusetts municipal law and has acted as local counsel on a variety of development issues, including zoning, subdivision control, and construction permitting; multifamily housing; and condominium development. He has appeared as an expert witness on Massachusetts real estate title law in the Massachusetts Trial Court.
Mr. Pitt is past president of the Real Estate Bar Association for Massachusetts, director emeritus of its Board of Directors, and co-chair of its Title Standards Committee. He has spoken on real estate topics for Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education since 1995 and has regularly chaired a seminar on resolving complex real estate title issues. He is a member of the Abstract Club. He is an issuing agent for most major title insurance companies.
