    Biography

    George Watson is a member of the firm's Environmental + Utilities Group, where his practice is focused on siting and permitting energy, utility, and other infrastructure projects. His work regularly involves the range and intersect of environmental, real estate, and land use concerns. His practice also includes the negotiation of environmental land use restrictions, representing clients in the acquisition, development, and disposition of commercial real property, and telecommunication facility siting and leasing matters.

      • Represent an academic institution in connection with its relocation to a new 350-student campus to be built in conjunction with a private multifamily, 120-unit condominium. Representation included drafting and negotiation of the purchase and sale agreement with the property owner and the joint venture agreement with the private real estate developer. Handling all due diligence, design, permitting, construction, and financing-related aspects of the project on the school's behalf.
      • Land Use and Zoning

      • Representation of a national retailer seeking local zoning approvals to expand an existing retail facility and to construct a gas station as part of the expansion. In connection with the facility expansion and new gas station, the developer also made circulation and ingress and egress improvements requiring the widening of the fronting state roadway. This representation involved clearing title issues related to a paper street that were implicated by this ancillary roadway expansion.
