Bankruptcy and Creditors’ Rights
Laurie has extensive experience representing creditors, debtors, committees, and trustees in bankruptcy proceedings, insolvency proceedings, and out-of-court workouts. Her bankruptcy litigation experience includes defending and prosecuting preference and fraudulent transfer actions, automatic stay disputes, equitable subordination claims, non-dischargeability actions, and enforcement of contract rights. She also counsels clients on implementing procedures for mitigating credit risks and on bankruptcy-related issues.
Pro Bono and Community Activity
Laurie is committed to pro bono legal services and is actively involved in the community. She represents low-income Philadelphia residents in Chapter 7 proceedings and is on the board of the Consumer Bankruptcy Assistance Project. She also serves on the board of Pennypack Farm and Education Center, a community supported agricultural farm that donates more than 10,000 pounds of organic produce to food banks around the region. Laurie has also been a Girl Scout leader for over five years.
