Linda McDowell is the chair of the firm's Trusts and Estates Section and practices in the areas of estate planning and estate administration. She assists individual clients in creating and implementing estate plans and gift-giving arrangements that meet their personal wishes and concerns while taking into consideration various state and federal gift, death, and income tax consequences. In estate administration, Ms. McDowell assists clients in the orderly settlement of decedent estates. During the process, she works with family members, as well as the local probate courts, and state and federal tax authorities.
Ms. McDowell has been a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel since 2002. She has also been a member of the Connecticut Bar Association's Estates & Probate Section Executive Committee since 1990 and is a current member and past president of the Estate and Business Planning Council of Hartford. Ms. McDowell currently serves as Secretary of the Board of Trustees for the Connecticut Women's Hall of Fame.
