Matthew Ray advises banks, private lenders and corporate borrowers in financing matters involving real estate-based, asset-based and cash flow-based financings. His practice also includes handling real estate transactions. Mr. Ray is a member of the firm’s Finance Group.
Mr. Ray represents both lenders and corporate borrowers in connection with commercial financings. Additionally, he also handles mezzanine financings, leveraged acquisition financings, bridge loans, restructurings, foreclosures, and workouts.
Mr. Ray assists clients with conventional loans, construction loans, working capital loans, tax-exempt bond financings, and credit enhancements.
Mr. Ray routinely advises lenders in connection with the financing of large projects such as shopping plazas, national chain hotels and office buildings. Mr. Ray has represented clients in obtaining multi-million dollar construction, real estate and working capital loans to help their businesses grow.
Commercial Real Estate
Mr. Ray handles general real estate transactions, including commercial property acquisitions and dispositions, leasing, land use, and title review.
Mr. Ray drafts and negotiates commercial lease agreements for office, retail, restaurant and industrial properties. He has represented several landlords and tenants in the negotiation and lease of office space, and he was counsel to a regional real estate developer in the $36 million sale of several large residential apartment buildings.
Prior to joining Robinson+Cole, Mr. Ray worked at other law firms in the Boston area, where he handled general commercial real estate matters and concentrated on lender representation in commercial financings.
