Large Loss Property Damage Subrogation
Thomas has extensive experience in pursuing recovery from responsible third parties for property damage sustained by fires, explosions, flooding and other casualties. His background includes handling and investigating all aspects of subrogation recovery assignments from the moment a loss occurs. To most effectively represent his clients, Thomas is experienced in consulting with origin and cause experts to develop the theory of liability and to identify the responsible third parties to pursue for recovery. He strives to efficiently manage the costs of recovery in working to obtain the highest net recovery possible for the firm’s clients. When settlement prior to litigation is not possible, Thomas is well versed in all phases of litigation, and has taken several jury trials to successful verdicts. Most notably, he has obtained recovery through litigation for losses arising from building collapses, large electrical fires, extensive water leaks, product failures, negligent design and construction, and interstate transportation of goods. Thomas’s article, “Breaking Down Barriers and Building Bridges Prior to Settlement,” was published in Subrogator Magazine and discussed strategic negotiation skills to employ in obtaining settlements.
