Biography
Alicia Selman focuses her practice on a broad range of real estate transactional and land use matters. Her clients include businesses of all sizes, developers, builders, lenders, and organizations.
Real Estate – Financing and Transactions
Alicia represents clients in real estate transactions and financings. She advises sellers, purchasers, lenders, borrowers on the structuring, negotiation, and documentation of various types of real estate transactions and financings. She assists clients with due diligence, and handles title and survey matters. Her experience covers affordable housing transactions, and drafting and evaluating documentation for multi-family properties, including condominiums and cooperatives.
Real Estate Leasing
Alicia assists tenants, owners, and developers with the leasing of commercial, office, retail, and industrial spaces of all sizes. She helps clients navigate the legal issues until the final execution of a lease, including drafting and negotiating letters of intent, lease agreements, subleases, and lease amendments.
Land Use
Alicia has experience advising clients on local zoning and other local and state land use regulation and reviewing environmental risk documentation in the context of transactions. She also assists clients with obtaining the permits and approvals they need to successfully complete their development projects.
Prior to joining Robinson+Cole, Alicia served as a judicial intern to the Honorable Howard Speicher, Justice of the Land Court Department of the Trial Court of Massachusetts, and was an intern in the General Counsel’s Office of the Massachusetts Development Finance Agency.
