Biography
Crystal D. Peralta is a commercial litigator who focuses her practice on insurance coverage litigation. As a member of the firm's Insurance + Reinsurance Group, Crystal handles complex coverage and claim-handling disputes arising from claims under property, commercial general liability and professional liability policies, among other lines.
Crystal has significant experience practicing in both the federal and state courts.
Crystal also has experience representing Fortune 500 companies and smaller businesses in commercial litigation in a broad range of other sectors and industries.
Pro Bono and Community Involvement
Crystal has devoted numerous hours of pro bono legal aid to incarcerated individuals and low-income clients. She also serves on the Board of Directors for the Women’s Resource Center, a non-profit organization committed to preventing domestic violence and empowering survivors of domestic violence.
Crystal is an active member of the Rhode Island legal community and, as a first-generation Dominican-American attorney, is passionate about making the legal profession more inclusive for and supportive of attorneys from underrepresented backgrounds.
While in law school, Crystal served as a judicial extern for the Honorable O. Rogeriee Thompson of the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit and judicial intern for the Honorable Patricia A. Sullivan of the United States District Court for the District of Rhode Island. While Interning for Judge Sullivan, Crystal was involved in H.O.P.E. Court (Helping Offenders Prepare for reEntry), a program focused on individuals on federal post-conviction supervision.
