Biography
Katherine M. Katchen represents clients in complex commercial litigation matters, particularly in the area of managed care and insurance. Her practice is focused on health insurers, managed care companies, and insurers and third-party administrators in state and federal actions around the country. Kate is a counsel in the firm’s Managed Care + Employee Benefit Litigation group.
Kate has more than 20 years of litigation experience, handling matters brought by health care providers, professional medical societies and subscribers alleging a range of legal actions centered on legal theories, including: RICO conspiracy; ERISA violations; bad faith; contract and quasi-contract; tortious interference; and breach of state prompt pay. She has represented clients' needs around the country, including Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Florida, Illinois, California and Maryland.
Prior to beginning her corporate law practice, Kate was an Attorney Advisor to the U.S. Department of Labor from 1997 to 1999. In addition, she is a long-time volunteer attorney with the Support Center for Child Advocates and a board member of the Delaware Valley Golden Retriever Rescue.
