Laurie Krepto is a member of the firm’s Bankruptcy + Reorganizations Group.
Bankruptcy and Creditors’ Rights
Laurie has extensive experience in mass tort bankruptcy cases and represents trust advisory committees for multiple asbestos trusts.
She has represented creditors, debtors, committees, and trustees in bankruptcy proceedings, insolvency proceedings, and out-of-court workouts. Her bankruptcy litigation experience includes defending and prosecuting preference and fraudulent transfer actions, automatic stay disputes, equitable subordination claims, non-dischargeability actions, and enforcement of contract rights.
Laurie also counsels clients on implementing procedures for mitigating credit risks and on bankruptcy-related issues.
Pro Bono and Community Activity
Laurie is committed to pro bono legal services and is actively involved in the community. She represents low-income Philadelphia residents in Chapter 7 proceedings and is on the board of the Consumer Bankruptcy Assistance Project.
Laurie is active in the sustainable agricultural community. For the past eight years, she has served on the board of Pennypack Farm and Education Center, a community-supported agricultural farm that donates more than 25,000 pounds of organic produce to food banks around the region. She is also a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association Agriculture Law Committee, where she is a past Vice-Chair, and the American Agricultural Law Association.
Laurie has also been a Girl Scout leader for eight years and is a Mock Trial coach.
