Patrick L. Evatt has practiced law for 25 years and has a depth of experience in affordable housing and community development finance. Patrick is a former Associate General Counsel with the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation and has built a strong national real estate finance practice representing institutional lenders and credit enhancers in all types of affordable housing transactions. Patrick’s expertise includes structuring mixed-finance projects where multiple layers of financing are present, combining federal low-income housing tax credits with various other federal, state and local housing assistance programs and tax-exempt obligations.
Throughout his expansive career, Patrick has served as bond counsel, issuer’s counsel, disclosure counsel, underwriter’s counsel and borrower’s counsel in a variety of tax-exempt and taxable financings for multifamily housing and community development. Evatt began his career as a law clerk for the U.S. District Court, District of Nebraska, Judge Warren K. Urbom.
