Our practice is diverse and results oriented. Our deep understanding of EH+S and utility law, and our sensitivity to our clients’ business needs, help us deliver results that our clients value. Our performance has resulted in consistent top ratings with Chambers, Martindale Hubbell, and other lawyer ranking services. Our services include the following:

  • representing clients in federal and state courts
  • resolving issues in business transactions
  • conducting due diligence
  • negotiating purchase and sale agreements
  • obtaining permits
  • remediating contaminated sites
  • siting power production and telecom facilities
  • responding to releases, government inspections, and major incidents
  • providing risk management guidance and regulatory counseling

Our Team

Many of our members have degrees in related scientific and engineering disciplines and/or prior employment with governmental agencies and consulting firms. In addition to our substantive expertise, which covers all media under every major statute and regulatory program, we make it a priority to understand our clients’ businesses and business objectives. Taking full advantage of our collective knowledge and backgrounds of our group, we staff matters smartly and leanly. Associates and analysts work directly with experienced partners, making for efficient client teams. Our environmental lawyers work closely with our land use, real estate, general litigation, white-collar, business, and tax colleagues to provide comprehensive, creative, and effective advocacy and counseling. We are leaders in offering truly sustainable alternative fee arrangements and view these as valuable tools in structuring client relationships. We welcome the opportunity to discuss with our clients the billing and staffing arrangements that best serve their needs.
